For dogs 4 months and younger with no previous training.
Focus will be on establishing a solid relationship with your puppy as well as learning basic obedience skills such as Sit,Down, Stay and Come When Called (CWC). Beyond these skills we will cover socialization, housebreaking, understanding body language, confidence building, responsible dog ownership and beginning leash handling.
For dogs 5 months and older with no previous training.
While basic obedience skills such as Sit, Down, Stay, Come When Called (CWC) and Heel will be taught (or reinforced), we will ultimately focus on establishing good manners and setting your dog up for success. Topics will include polite greetings, understanding body language, barking and walking on leash. We will also cover how dogs learn, stages of training and the importance of force-free training.
For dogs 6 months and older, previous training required.
This class will take your dog’s basic manners to the next level as we trouble shoot “selective hearing” to improve overall response rate and introduce distractions to help you understand how it affects behavior and how to overcome it. We will incorporate the use of basic tricks and dog sports into our training routine and prepare you and your dog for the Canine Good Citizen test.
